The beach shade is easy to pitch, with pre-attached poles that pop up in an instant. No assembly required and no parts to lose. To secure the shade to the ground, simply add sand to the bottom sand compartments. The shade's best feature, however, is its heavy-duty polyester taffeta fabric, which is covered by a UVGuard treatment. The fabric's superior 50+ UPF rating ensures that you'll stay safe from most harmful UVA and UVB rays. The shade--which measures 6 by 4 feet and stands 4 feet 7 inches tall--shades up to two people comfortably and includes a zippered door for privacy. The shade carries a limited one-year warranty.
About Coleman
More than 100 years ago, a young man with an entrepreneurial spirit and a better idea began manufacturing lanterns in Wichita, Kansas. His name was W.C. Coleman, and the company he founded would change life in America. A man plagued with such poor vision he sometimes had to ask classmates to read aloud to him, Coleman saw a brilliant light in 1900 in a drugstore window that stopped him in his tracks. He inquired about the light inside and discovered he was able to read even the small print on a medicine bottle by the illumination. The lamps had mantles, not wicks, and were fueled by gasoline under pressure instead of coal oil. Soon afterward, Coleman started a lighting service that offered a "no light, no pay" clause--a big step forward for merchants who were burned by inferior products that rarely worked--and drew substantial interest from businesses that wanted to keep their lights on after dark.
In the ensuing years, Coleman expanded its product line well beyond lanterns. The company's current catalog is thick with products that make spending time outdoors a pleasure. The quality and the packaging of the product is excellent. The carrying bag is large enough that you don't have to roll and re-roll the tent super tightly. The packaging indicated it takes 1 minute to set up after initial try. That is very true. The instruction's diagram is useless because the diagram does not resemble what it looks like. So use the photo that is shown on the packaging and your own common sense. My initial attempt base on the instruction manual caused me to set the tent up inside out. After I look at the photo, I tried it again, and it was up within one minute. So don't get frustrated if you can't get it right at first. After you get it right, you'll get it up very quickly every single time. I have not tried it on the beach yet. So I can't review the stakes. I love how wide it is.
